Blinde Quellentrennung

Blind source separation

Blinde Quellentrennung (engl. "blind source separation" (BSS)) bezieht sich auf das Problem, aus linearen Mischungen einzelne Signale zu separieren. BSS hat die vorteilhafte Eigenschaft, dass nur wechselseitige statistische Unabhängigkeit der Signale vorausgesetzt wird. Es wird also kein spezielles Wissen über die Quellensignale, die Mischungsbedingungen oder die Sensoranordnungen benötigt. Damit lässt sich die blinde Quellentrennung in einer Vielzahl von Situationen einsetzen, wie z.B. zur Trennung von simultanen Sprechern,  zur Analyse biomedizinischer EEG Signale oder in der Telekommunikation zur Trennung mehrerer empfangener Signale.

In Bezug auf Audiosignale spricht man bei einem linearen Sprachgemisch vom sogenannten "Cocktail-Party" Problem. Wie können Menschen aus einer Vielzahl von Stimmen, die zusätzlich von Hintergrundgeräuschen und Echos überlagert werden, einen bestimmten Sprecher auswählen? Ein Ansatz dieses Problem zu lösen, ist die Aufnahme der gemischten Sprachsignale mit Mikrofongruppen und anschließende Anwendung von blinden Quellentrennungsverfahren. Dadurch können die an verschiedenen räumlichen Positionen befindlichen Quellensignale durch Ausnutzung der statistischen Unabhängigkeit getrennt werden.
